Monte

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Welcome to my blog! Contrary to the time stamp, today is Thursday 09 July 2009 (I am editting the set-up sample entry so it reflects the day that Eric registered the blog system).

It only seems appropriate that I also welcome the newest addition to our Cat Family: Monte! He is a 3 year old lynx point Siamese (mix?) and he is The SWEETEST Boy a Cat-Mom could ask for. He happily coos and meows at you when he sees you. He’ll come when he’s called and then rubs on your legs or head butts any part of you that he comes in contact with. Loves to be held and snuggled with - cat kisses for me and tummy rubs for him. He’ll lay on his back and knead the air with his front paws. About the only thing he doesn’t do is drool! But I wouldn’t be surprised if he does. He’s a hedonistic cat! And the World revolves around him, much to the dismay of Cosmo, “Daddy’s Princess”, who runs the house. She’s had her nose out of joint since he arrived Monday morning. But she’ll come around…

We are having to give equal time to the other five cats to let them know that, yes, we still love them just as we always have. They need to be nice to Monte because he needed to find a home and we promised him that he’d be happy living here with all of us. After all, there’s plenty of catnip to go around!!!

My friend, Lise, who has taken such good care of Monte and heart-breakingly had to give him up, still has six more of her Cat-Kids to find homes for - BY THE 14th of THIS MONTH. She and her cats will be “out on the street” (divorce forces her out of the house). She’s not so concerned about herself as she is understandably worried and stressed about the fate of the remaining cats. The shelters are full and say that if they DID take them in, they would be euthanized within days. PLEASE help Lise save her cat-kids. Even if you can temporarily house them till homes can be found would help to buy time and extend their lives. These are healthy, happy cats that deserve a safe home. Please call Lise ASAP if you have ANY way to help. 503-330-1629 cell or home 503-640-8103 in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Meanwhile, I’m going to go hug my six…
