About
Eric Laffoon is the founder and chief executive of Kitty hooch. It all started so small and innocent, growing a few plants on the back deck. Then it was spending grocery money on a hunch. Eventually Kitty Hooch evolved into a small business with local event sales, online sales and hundreds of wholesale accounts. You can find out more at kittyhooch.com.
I decided to set up this blog to enhance user interaction and offer insight to our customers. Perhaps a few ideas will be shared here too. I have no shortage of ideas and opinions. While Kitty hooch is my business I have other interests and things I do. So I will list of some things people may or may not know about me.
- I am a musician. I play guitar and keyboards and have a small studio to relive my glory days.
- I am a Linux geek and free software developer. I am the project lead on two rather popular KDE software projects, Quanta and Kommander and the module kdewebdev
- I personally developed the kittyhooch.com web site.
- I have done public speaking, motivational training and personal development and time management training
- I’m working on at least one book and planning to write several others.
- I am a strong believer in personal liberty and personal accountability, which make perfect sense for someone with a 20 plus year record of self employment.
- I am naturally an introverted geek who learned the essential communication skills and patterns to excel in a social structure. As such I am sort of the fusion of a right brain, left brain train wreck.
In my mind the greatest value in the world is people and the freedom and empowerment of all people should be considered in the common good. My pursuits in free software include my vision for a free and open global community where familiarity and congeniality preclude hostility. The greatest thing for individuals is personal happiness and cats are marvelous creatures for companionship. Our kind treatment of our animal friends speaks volumes to our humanity and our nature. Cats are independent minded, yet in a civilized world they are much like children in their dependence on our protection and care. In this blog I hope to share my thoughts and the thoughts of my cat companions. Enjoy!
