Another good piece.

This is so true:

"How did a bunch of peasant farmers and citizen militias manage to defeat the largest and most powerful army and navy in the world to gain our independence over a 2% tax on tea… and somehow this spawned a nation with the central idea of “you can’t fight city hall”?"

Well said.

How did we get to this point? We've become way too apathetic. Heck, people have learned from the media it's "cool" to mock the very people who do get up off their couches and question the status quo.

The mockers actually feel pride for accepting whatever they're told to do (ie work months out of the year just to pay taxes that then go to our govt's crony capitalists, lobbiests, etc). And they feel noble for having done so.

Very sad.

I'm not sure I can but I can try. First of all read. The greatness of our society has exploded since the printing press and now everybody can have one. 20 years ago I read with disdain a statement of the Japanese warrior philosopher Myamoto Musashi that with wisdom a man could navigate any challenge and that it generally came around age 50. Now that I have passed that mark I have to admit that while there are many people I admire who are younger there is a benefit to insight with age. Perhaps the greatest advice in writing I can give is the following. Write your ideas imagining you are talking to someone who is hearing them for the first time. Make your case, look for contrast and recognize we are creatures of irony. When addressing self deception one must position themselves along side the reader on common ground as opposed to opposite them as an adversary. Once you have written and made your case read through three times at least and look for where you used more words than were needed. One of my favorite proverbs, and an irony for my loquacious style, is "with many words transgression is certain". Finally always write from your passion. I hope this helps.

So many good points. But this one alone is a good enough argument for me to question the non-debatable science:

"No man who possesses a great idea or a worthy proposition is afraid to bring it to the table for debate. The conviction that your idea is worthy, that your discovery is significant, that your research is right… That is something you surly want your chance to prove."

Al Gore, prove it!

Instead, he and a few of the CRU scientists have run off and made excuses. Any good scientist I've heard from claims the idea that someone would shut the questions out with: "The debate is closed!" has nothing to do with the way real science is conducted. Which is just to confirm your point, the science has been politicized.

Now if only our media would stop propagandizing for Gore and his troupe of twit scientists everyone would know the truth.

Great blog post!

Thanks Michele. This demonstrates why I don't fit in a box. I mean how many fiscally conservative traditionalist libertarian hedonists are there? There is really only one time we all like being lied to and it seems a shame to throw penalty flags on the oldest game around. It's an important distinction to be absolutely certain you haven't unknowing died and kept walking. Put another way, that which takes us outside ourselves to touch another in even the smallest moment of the tiniest flirtation is the same energy that brings joy to our dearest relationships. If we don't seek our joys the reservoir may run dry in the time to share them.

Eric -

I love your brain. Bravo!

And this is so true:

"But they’re happy, or at least they are too busy trying to stay alive to tweet how unhappy they are that their latte was not foamy enough today."

Wow! I love the way you think, and, man, you DO think. Great summation of what's taken place over the years in this climate science scandal.

And I love this: " I just don’t like being manipulated, unless I’m getting drinks and dancing out of it."

I have read thousands of BLOGs in my time. This one wins the Oscar! Yes, its hilarious and excellent satire. But what really hit me was the amount of truth and irony that lies beneath the goofy humor. It's not just the money these knuckleheads in Lost Angeles are making. It's the ponzi schemes they are using to fleece the public. For example... I'm a NASCAR fan. There is so much about NASCAR that could be made into a very funny movie. So when I see a trailer for Talladega Nights that features the three (only three) funny scenes, I take my family of 5 out for dinner and a movie. Including popcorn and drinks, I drop about $75 and proceed to the ponzi room where I experience 1.5 hours of humiliation for forking over my money so Will Ferrell can make $20,000,000 and proceed to make his amazingly stupid PSA. May I suggest that Willie F. be assigned the top bunk right above Bernie Madoff
