Cat BuddyThe Cat Buddy grew out of customer requests. You know who you are. We heard people loved our catnip and our innovation and quality, but their cat loved this shape. Not wanting to ever do a "me too" toy we came up with the cat buddy. Of course the first thing you notice is it's cute. It's not just cute. The Cat Buddy is a tour de force toy. First of all it is refillable. We use a pouch because it makes it easy to maintain and wash. One thing we never used and never will is synthetic fiber fill. We've heard too many horror stories about cats being rushed to the vet for surgery after eating fiber fill. Safety matters! Kitty Hooch uses recycled blankets for filling. Finally there is also an optional bell, and again safety is everything. We put it on the inside and to keep it from costing a fortune we put the bell in recycled cardboard. Fall Harvest Leaf 0.5 oz

Fall Harvest Leaf 0.5 ozFall Harvest Leaf is a leaf only product that is sort of like ice wine. Often you will see red and purple in the leaf which is the sugars releasing due to cold nights. It has a different quality than summer leaf. While the flower is the most potent catnip the leaf is still substantially better than the dried out ground stalk you will find in the pet stores. However a cats response is a matter of their personal potency threshhold. A small percentage of cats will only respond to the flowers. The leaf is a better product for feeding cats catnip as greens or putting in their food to make them eat more slowly.

Hoochfeather Bird

Hoochfeather BirdThe wand was a big improvement over commercial feather toys with it's durable construction and catnip pouch, but we wanted more. We created the very unique bird with the idea of getting really animated play. We haven't seen another detachable feather toy that goes on a fishing pole and has catnip in it. Because we place our customers first the loop in the nose will attach to all our poles and bungees. These are safe and durable toys. Hoochfeather Wand

Hoochfeather WandCats love feathers! But the one we bought fell apart in a matter of minutes. Who needs that? So we set out to design a feather toy worthy of Kitty Hooch. After a year of testing and design work we were finally ready. Hoochfeather toys are made with selected high quality feathers bound together with colored duct tape. (You always knew it was good for everything.) Our first test toy lasted nearly a year! Expect these to last at least several times longer than commercial feather toys in most cases. Just being durable has never been enough. We also added a little pouch of catnip too. We finally had a durable feather toy. With some more refinement we got the right balance and spring feel. Our wholesale accounts considered the look a little rough so now we cover part of the duct tape with florist tape for cosmetics. The difference between the Wand and Super Wand is the latter has a longer reach.

Mini

MiniThe Mini is a product we jokingly refer to as our gateway toy. We introduced the Mini to offer a low cost toy to customers and because we had a much higher than usual leaf to bud ratio in 2010. The Mini is filled exclusively with leaf so it doesn't pack as much kick as our other stuffed toys. However since our catnip is who and carefully preserved even our leaf is better than any mulched catnip that everybody else uses. The Mini will have a shorter expected life than a Mouse or a Baby Buddy but they are cheap and allow our customers to experience Kitty Hooch before coming back for more and/or other products.

In fact we've tested them in a room full of psychotic tester cats known for their destructive tendencies. Our toys are lined to help keep their shape and increase longevity as the catnip is crushed. They are carefully gathered and each leaf and flower is hand picked off the stalks and put in bins to be sealed and stored at ideal humidity. It has an elastic loop on top you can attach to a door knob, your fingers or any number of things. The super pole has 30 lb test fishing line that attaches at the base instead of the end (for two handed control) and extends roughly six feet past the end! That means real fly fishing action. It has a velcro'd opening with a 5 inch cloth channel that holds the catnip pouch in the center of the bed. The catnip is of course Kitty Hooch quality leaf and bud sewn into a pouch. There's 2 toys worth in there! You can remove the catnip pouch and wash and dry the bed easily. We recommend replacing the pouch every 6 months. These beds have luxurious and beautiful tops and are made to the highest standards. Catnip Jerked Chicken

Catnip Jerked ChickenHere's a treat for the finicky cat. This is made from whole chicken thighs that are marinaded 24 hours in a seasoned brine then slow cooked over a mesquite grill. The chicken is then stripped off the bone and chopped up kitty bite size. Then we slow jerk it and vacuum seal it with bits of catnip flower for that extra appeal. They don't intoxicate so much as entice. Cats know quality and this is gormet. This is popular especially if your cat craves people food. We have seen roughly 90% of cats like this. Unlike our toys we cannot gaurantee this product. As we all know there is no accounting for a cats mood with food.

Each packet is 1.5 oz. There should not be a problem with spoiling as it's jerked and vacuum sealed but there are instructions on the package for optimum freshness. Keeps up to 2 years in the freezer.

Scratch No MoreScratch control that's permanent, odor control and stain remover... Have we lost our mind? Let's start at the top. When your cat scratches you will notice the first thing they do is sniff, then scratch. That's why chain stores sell bitter apple. Spray it on and your cat is supposed to be annoyed and go somewhere else. Unfortunately the best case scenario means you have to spray that spot every day as long as you have cats and the worst case scenario is your cat bats the bottle around like it was catnip. That's what one customer said. So what to do? Let's start with a little known fact that seems forehead slapping obvious in retrospect...

When cats scratch their claws leave oils... It's scent marking, like when they rub their face on something. One has to wonder if the companies making bitter apple know this or are just using a recipe from an old angry person who wanted to get back at the cats and had a lot of apples laying around? Cat's are scratching a message, "my scent needs to be stronger" or "I live here too". We used an enzyme cleaner to digest the organic material. You may even have some in your closet, but many people have never heard of it. When we opened our store in Jantzen Beach we realized it was silly not to sell it. That's when we read the label on what we bought in the chain store. Sure it had stopped them scratching the woodwork and leather, but it discolored them. The chain store product also said to soak the area, let it dry for 2 weeks and see if it worked. That's when we found a product only sold in concentrate we could buy industrial size that met our standards!

Anasazi Tall

Pagoda MinimaxThis is visually stunning and amazingly fun for cats. It's the only piece my cats may have liked as much or more than the Pagoda Supreme. It is however very large with a 3 foot square base. It also places a lot of weight up high. While it is not at all tippy it does flex a little, but that is nothing to worry about.

The 1/3 round hammock is 2 feet long and from 18 inch diameter tube and the top shelf is 16x26. Mini HammockThis is a small piece with big features. The hammock is 16 inches long and 1/3 of a 14 inch diameter tube. It's incredibly light, yet it will tip in excess of 45 degrees without falling over. Like all our bigger pieces it comes with rubber feet. There are three total compoenents which can be individually replaced. The post is 19 inches tall.

Pagoda Minimax

Pagoda Minimaxhis design is also the result of a customer request. They liked the Pagoda Tall but they wanted to be sure their cats could hide from their dogs. This was a wonderful experience for me because it became our smallest piece with a secret passage, but even more rewarding was delivering it to the customer. Their dogs and cats are rescues, and in particular one cat had been horribly tormented by people with drug habits who thought tormenting small animals was somehow funny. Now that cat has a loving home and we helped it to have a wonderful piece of cat furniture.

This design also has a refillable post in the back, which you can see in the photo of the little kitten cautiously hiding from the big guy with the camera. It's partial sisal. We know your cats will enjoy this piece.

Pagoda Playhouse Supreme

Pagoda Playhouse SupremeThis is not only visually stunning it is functionally amazing while distorting perception. It has a secret passage from top to bottom with a removable cover on the back. (below left) It also affords a great deal of isolation for cats that don't get along and both 16 inch houses have 3 exits for cats emotional security. The side windows enable you to reach in with a feather toy and guide your cat into the top or bottom entrance to the passageway. While this looks absolutely huge it has a base that is only 24x30 inches and the maximum width at the tray is 27 inces before carpet. So it fits remarkably well in most homes. The levels also create a step effect for cats to hop quickly to the top. This is in our home.

Pagoda Tall

Pagoda TallThis design is thanks to a conversation with one of our customers who got the first one. Originally our pagoda was shorter and sort of boring and pagodas mostly ended up on top of large pieces. Scott wanted something a little taller that wasn't so hard on the cat's piggy banks. So we came up with this design and to our delight Scott stopped back by and we were able to make one for him. The ones in these photos also showcase the new "seamless" top. Oddly you sort of see the seam in pictures, but nobody can find it at first in person. These units always look even nicer in real life. We Included old photos but the new design offers two improvments. First the post in the back no longer is set on the house, but is moved back and changed from a 16" to a 32" post. Ironically the difference between the extra work on the round house and the post even out out. The front now has a new "mouse hole" style door, but it really looks sort of like temple entrance. It makes it more private, more attractive and offers a much more durable finish than the old way. It's actually easier, even thought there is a little more to it. So we didn't change the price when we made these improvements.

Sisal RampOur Sisal Ramp is a master stroke of genius. Cats should be high maintenance, cat furniture should be zero! This piece was frankly inspired by the cardboard units sold in chain stores along with refill units. If you had the choice between a nice looking piece of furniture with a long life and a cheesey piece of cardboard you had to clean up after all the time, and both were the same price, which would you choose? The irony here is that we have encountered customers spending as much as 3 times as much the first year for the cardboard! Our customers often told us they were spending $10 a month to sweep up after their cat. That's crazy. The only customer to beat our 6 month wear warranty did rescue and had 50 cats! When you put this down you can forget about servicing it and enjoy your cat for years to come.

Scratch Pad

Scratch PadThe Scratch Pad is adapted from the Ramp scratcher. It is basically the top off of it with the corners stablilzed. Like the Ramp it has rubber feet to protect hardwood floors and keep it from sliding. Our 3/8 inch industrial sisal rope is embedded into the top board and completely glued to the surface. As with all our embedded rope scratchers there are no exposed staples on top. To open put your thumbs on the bottom and lift with your fingers toward the top. The catnip pouch area is large and the catnip will stay potent for up to siz months. As will all Kitty Hooch furniture there is a six month wear warrnaty. This is a scratcher you don't have to hide when company comes over.

Pagoda MinimaxOur regular scratching post looks a lot like what you might find in a chain store, except it is completely different. Why is that? I tripped over a commercial post once and it never stood up again. It was built around soft plastic. Our posts are not only more attractive with full wrap carpet, but the end caps are cedar 2x4 with a metal to metal fastening system. We also use the innovative split bottom to make it easy to pack in small boxes. There are even brass hinges in there. Finally, you will notice our posts have rubber feet. It's a small touch, but since we know these will last for years you will appreciate it. As usual our 6 month wear warranty applies.

Siamese Palace

Siamese PalaceHere is another idea I have had for some time and our little Rose is posing her to say she loves this design. Each round house on the bottom has front and rear doors directly opposed as well as a passage into the upper house. Along with the two doors in front on the second level there are two windows and a passage to the top, which also has two windows. Rose and I like to play watch the ping pong ball roll to the bottom. This is a seriously fun piece that cats love. It's footprint is 32x16 inches.

Now I have to fit another piece in my living room, by popular demand no less. Here it is folks, the ultimate in aesthetic flair and cat entertainment. It has a top to bottom secret passageway but does not stick out as far to the back as the Pagoda Playhouse Supreme. It has a 30 inch square base for enhanced stability with the wider top and several other new design enhancements like double posts in the back to prevent flex. The top tray is 17x18! This is spacious and stunning. When your friends see this they will either be filled with envy or think you're crazy. Super Structure II

Super Structure IIThis is our tallest post in the $200 price point. It stands over 5 foot 9 inches. It sits on a spacious 18 inch round round house with the Kitty Hooch style of two "arch" style doors, one right and one left. It has a triangular play hole in the top (16"x18" internal area) that all but the fattest of cats can get through, or they can climb over the side. This is great for cats to play king of the hill on.
