If you love your cats like we do you're going to love this!

Recently we were approached with an offer to market a new cat food on our web site. Frankly we were skeptical. First we wanted to know why we would choose that cat food and second we wanted to test it and be sure we could stand behind it. The folks at Young Again were very patient and told us about their product and set us a sample. It is now our regular cat food and frankly we would tell everyone about this product just because we believe in it. In the interest of disclosure we also will realize some income from customers we refer, which we hope you will feel is a good thing.

Why were were actually interested in finding a better pet food

We love our cats, but we have been distessed thinking about their health. Cats should live into their teens and twenties with good care. Yet we had a cat in her early teens who was diabetic and another with thyroid problems who died at 13. We can't bear the thought of losing our companions, some of who are now 10 years old. Even more stressful was the recent outbreak of tainted pet food from China. It's just the only options we heard of were costly and time consuming feeding cats raw meat.

What we were told

We were first told the problems with cat food today. Cats should eat a diet of 50% protein, not corn and wheat and 30% protein with lots of carbohydrates. What was pointed out to us was that 20 years ago cats lived longer, were healthier, had better teeth and breath and didn't have all the disease like diabetes. Then we were told a seemingly impossible list of things this food would do. Those included better body composition, softer fur, more relaxed disposition, cleaner teeth, better breath, less waste in the litter box (less actual food consumed) and the net result of it costing pretty close to what we currently spent.

What we saw when we started

We were told to start feeding by eliminating old dry food and launching by feeding, instead of wet food the first day, Young Again Cat Food. Sure enough they took to it right away. Here's a picture.

We were also advised to reduce wet food feedings to just a teaspoon full, just a taste. If you read the ingredients on there you will wish you could just buy canned whole meat. We actually did and saw our cats taste change from not liking high quality meats to liking them. That alone makes me feel ill about the pet food industry. Within two weeks we noticed our cats had the softest fur, and some of these cats were like petting a wire brush before. A friend came over and noticed they were all brighter in the eyes. Most amazingly Neo, who was 9 weeks and feral when we got him, became much calmer and less spooky. Our cats have better breath, the litter box is less full and we really do go through less food and pay about the same.

As if that wasn't enough...

We were even more impressed when we heard that this cat food is made right here in the good old US of A! We were actually told even more amazing things but if you ask us if any of it was untrue we have to be honest. Our cats did not lose as much weight as we expected. Their weight went up first and then came down, but not as much as we expected. However none of them look fat or feel like thay have a big belly when you run your hands over them. They are just more muscular. We now feel like we have done something to not only make our cats happier and our time with them better, but we believe we just extended that time by years.
